I have been collecting autographs of professional golfers on the top of blonde persimmon golf heads for some time. I took Kathy, my wife and golf enthusiastic partner for 4 years, to the Honda Classic this year and was very fortunate to get 26 players and two announcers, Paul Azinger and Dan Hicks. We were in Lutz, Florida 4 years ago to the Champions Tournament and she got Steve Pate’s autograph. He turned the MacGregor club head over to see the number on the base and told her “Ma’am, you know that this is the same number club I used 30 years ago when I was on the Tour”. She became a partner after that encounter actually having a real conversation with a real tournament player. She now follows the tour like a Champ.
